The bright picture of Vietnam’s tuna exports to Egypt

Egypt is currently the 11th largest tuna import market of Vietnam with the main products are processed and canned tuna, accounting for 99% of the total export value.
According to the statistics of the World Trade Center (ITC), after a decline in imports in 2021, tuna imports have increased again in 2022. Currently, Vietnam is the second-largest tuna supplier in this market.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Egypt, the demand for tuna in this country has been growing well in recent years, especially canned tuna. Moreover, Egypt is currently the largest tuna importer in the Middle East in 2021.
Although ranked second, Vietnam’s tuna export potential is still tremendous, especially after being impacted by the epidemic, Egyptian businesses tend to diversify suppliers.
